Lasting Power of Attorney
The total costs of creating a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) depends on whether you wish us to simply draft the LPA and get it executed, or whether you wish for us to register it at the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) in addition. An LPA must be registered with the OPG before it can be used. It also depends on whether you want just a Property & Finance LPA, or just a Health & Welfare LPA, or both.
Our charges are as follows:-
Drafting an LPA (but not sending it for registration)
- One LPA for one person (without registration) - £240 (including VAT at 20%)
- Two LPAs for one person (without registration) - £420 (including VAT at 20%)
- One LPA each for two people (without registration) - £420 (including VAT at 20%)
- Two LPA's each for two people (4 LPA's in total) (without registration) - £780 (including VAT at 20%)
Drafting an LPA and getting it registered at the Office of the Public Guardian
- One LPA for one person - £420 (including VAT at 20%) plus £92 OPG fee = £512 in total.
- Two LPAs for one person - £720 (including VAT at 20%) plus £184 OPG fee = £904 in total.
- One LPA each for two people - £720 (including VAT at 20%) plus £184 OPG fee = £904 in total.
- Two LPA's each for two people (4 LPA's in total) - £780 (including VAT at 20%) plus £348 OPG fee = £1,268 in total.
Other charges and costs that could apply:
- The Office of the Public Guardian's registration fee is £92.00 for each LPA
- Medical expert fees for certifying capacity to give instructions (charge by the Expert)
